The REGAIN Method
Reconnect.
Regain Confidence.
Regain Calm.
A nervous-system-led programme for reactive dogs and the owners who love them — because your dog isn't broken, they're overwhelmed.
You've Tried Everything. Nothing Has Stuck.
You've watched the YouTube videos, tried the training classes, taken the advice from well-meaning friends. And yet here you are — still dreading the walk, still scanning ahead, still holding your breath every time another dog appears. That's not a failure on your part. It means you've been given the wrong tools for the actual problem.
Always on high alert
You never fully relax on walks. You're scanning, tensing, bracing — and your dog feels every bit of it.
The guilt is relentless
You wonder if you're failing them. Whether you're the right owner. Whether things will ever get better.
Your world has got smaller
You've stopped going certain places. Friends have stopped inviting you. The dog's behaviour is running your life.
You feel judged and embarrassed
People stare. You've heard the comments. You've started avoiding places you used to love.
The problem isn't your dog's behaviour. It's that no one has helped you understand what's driving it.
That's exactly what the REGAIN Method does.
This Isn't Just Training. It's Understanding.
Trying to stop the barking or lunging
Understanding what's driving it from the inside out
Generic obedience training
A personalised nervous system plan for your dog
Quick fixes that don't last
Lasting change through regulation, not suppression
Being told what to do
Learning to read and respond to your own dog
Feeling like you're failing
Reconnecting with your dog and your confidence
A Clear Process. Not Just Sessions.
The REGAIN Method is a six-stage framework built on the science of how dogs actually process stress, fear, and overwhelm. Each stage is distinct, progressive, and outcome-driven — so you always know exactly where you are and what happens next.
This isn't about managing behaviour. It's about changing the nervous system state that's driving it — so your dog can reconnect with you, and you can both start to breathe again.
A Process You Can Trust
Each stage solves a different problem. Each one builds on the last. You'll always know exactly where you are.
Regulation First
Before anything else, we assess your dog's nervous system. We look at stress levels, baseline arousal, and what's keeping them stuck in survival mode. No behaviour fixing yet — just understanding. Because you can't build on a dysregulated foundation.
"My dog isn't 'bad' — they're overwhelmed. And now I know where they're at."
Environment Reset
Now we look at everything around your dog — the triggers, the routines, the daily load they're carrying. Most reactive dogs are already at capacity before the walk even begins. We identify what's filling the bucket and start emptying it.
"I finally understand what's pushing my dog over the edge — and how to stop stacking it."
Guidance & Leadership
This is where you step into your role properly — not as a disciplinarian, but as a calm, clear guide your dog can actually trust. We work on your lead handling, your communication, and your own confidence. Because your nervous system directly influences theirs.
"I know what to do in the moment instead of panicking."
Adaptive Skills
Now we build real skills that work in real life — not just in a controlled training environment. Regulation-based techniques that help your dog move between arousal states, disengage from triggers, and recover faster when things go wrong.
"My dog can cope instead of just reacting."
Integration
This is where most programmes fall short. We take everything you've built and apply it in the real world — gradually, safely, and with you fully supported. Real-life exposure, increasing challenges, and the confidence to handle what comes up.
"This actually works on our walks — not just in theory."
Normalise Calm
The end goal isn't perfection. It's stability. A dog who can walk past another dog without the world ending. A relationship where you trust each other. Long-term routines that keep the calm in place and prevent regression.
"This is just how my dog is now."
What Happens When It Works
These aren't just nice words — they're families who got their walks back.
